DAVIDE APPOLLONIO TRIUMPHS IN THE 1st stage of the Volta a Portugal
Great team performance today in Portugal with the amazing finalization of Davide Appollonio whom, in the sprint of the 1st stage of the Volta a Portugal didn't have rivals on the finish line in Leira after 174 km, going to take a resounding victory in the first race to which he took part after 4 years of stop.
"We are in seventh heaven - says Fanini - such a thing had never been seen in the history of modern cycling. Davide was amazing, for me it is a phenomenon. A proper thank you goes to the whole team, without exception. They were priceless in the last kilometers thanks to the advice of Di Basco and Starchyk, and in the end Davide did something exceptional. We are only at the beginning, so we could not ask for more even if we expect more satisfactions in the next days ".
